We are talking about actor Rajkumar, whose birth anniversary is today. Born on October 8, 1926 in Loralai (now Pakistan), Rajkumar gave a new identity to Hindi cinema. His acting and his style were such that they captivated people’s hearts. He blessed the industry with many wonderful films but when he left the world, no one heard about it.
Had hidden deadly disease from the world
Rajkumar died on July 3, 1996 in Mumbai at the age of 69. His death was due to throat cancer. But very few people know that Rajkumar had kept his deadly disease hidden from the world till his death. It was only his son Puru Rajkumar who knew about his father’s illness. Rajkumar had clearly explained to his son that no one in the film industry should know about his throat cancer.
Didn’t confess about throat cancer until death
However, it is said that the truth cannot be hidden and the same happened with Rajkumar too. People came to know about his illness. But Rajkumar Rao rejected the news of his illness in an interview and said that he is absolutely fit. Rajukmar did not accept this till his death and kept his death also a secret.
Told his last wish to wife and children
It is said that when the prince saw the day of his death approaching, he expressed his last wish to his wife and children. He had said- ‘Look, I may not even be able to make it through this night. I want my entire family to be called and after my death, after performing all the rituals, they come back home and inform the rest of the people about my death. I don’t want any drama.
People got the news of Rajkumar’s death after the last rites.
Rajkumar’s family accepted his words and did the same. When the actor died, no one came to know about it. People were informed about his death only after his funeral.
